WELCOME TO THE SHINE NEONATOLOGY CONFERENCE

We invite you to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s SHINE (Symposium on Health Innovation and Neonatal Excellence), an educational event designed for healthcare professionals dedicated to the care of newborns and high-risk infants.

This three-day conference features nationally recognized experts presenting the latest evidence, innovations, and best practices in neonatal medicine. Educational sessions will explore the care of extremely premature infants, neurodevelopmental outcomes, Golden Hour strategies, skin care, prenatal genetics, emerging clinical trials, artificial intelligence in neonatal care, and nursing innovations. Attendees will also explore peer-reviewed research through oral and poster presentations showcasing advances in neonatal science and quality improvement.

The conference concludes with interactive, hands-on workshops focused on practical skills in neonatal care during the golden hour, non-invasive respiratory support, and the use of AI in everyday neonatal care, providing participants with tools they can immediately integrate into clinical practice.

Through a combination of expert lectures, interactive discussions, scientific presentations, and hands-on learning, the SHINE Conference promotes interprofessional collaboration and equips healthcare professionals with evidence-based knowledge and practical strategies to improve outcomes for critically ill and premature newborns.

Welcome to SHINE 2025, annual neonatology conference! We are delighted to host a gathering of esteemed neonatologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing neonatal care.

If you are interested in attending or would like to attend as an exhibitor or vendor, please contact us at 216-444-7966 or email: SHINE@ccf.org

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE

This program will also be of value to physicians preparing for initial board certification or Maintenance of Certification (MOC) assessments in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, providing a comprehensive review of current evidence, emerging therapies, and evolving best practices in neonatal care.

This activity is designed for neonatologists, pediatricians, neonatal nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, residents, fellows, students, and other professionals interested in neonatal-perinatal medicine.

By participating, you will be able to:

  • Discuss recent advances in neonatal ICU care and developmental follow-up.
  • Discuss the recent advances in the care of extremely preterm infants during the golden hour of their life, coordination of care, respiratory intervention, fluid and electrolyte management, and skin care.
  • Explore novel approaches in surfactant therapy for neonatal respiratory intervention.
  • Examine an overview of NIRS use in bedside decision-making.
  • Describe the use of artificial intelligence in neonatal disease prediction.
  • Review novel interventions in neonatal care through platform and poster presentations.
  • Explore recent advances in neonatal nursing care and learn how to empower nurses as providers.
  • Evaluate bubble CPAP performance, reliability, and implementation strategies, and troubleshoot common technical challenges in circuit setup and clinical use.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies through hands-on simulation to improve neonatal care at delivery and throughout the golden hour.
